About Rouge
Rouge is Toronto's far-northeast frontier, wrapped around Morningside, Sheppard and Finch on the doorstep of Rouge National Urban Park — a vast protected expanse of forest, river valley and farmland that is the largest urban park in North America. The newer Morningside Heights subdivisions give it a clean, planned, suburban feel: wide streets, freehold townhomes and detached houses built largely from the 1990s onward.
It is among the greenest places to live in the city, with trail access into the Rouge valley and the zoo nearby, balanced by big-box retail at the 401 corridor. Buses on Sheppard, Finch and Morningside connect to the TTC network and to Rouge Hill GO, and the community skews strongly to growing immigrant families drawn by new housing, parkland and room to breathe.
Condo product is limited and newer — townhome blocks and a few low-rise developments rather than the apartment towers of inner Scarborough. Pricing runs value-to-mid, with the park setting and modern construction commanding a small premium over older parts of the east end.
