Newtonbrook West fills the far-north stretch west of Yonge, running toward Bathurst between Finch and Steeles. It is a settled, low-key residential district of postwar bungalows and bigger rebuilt homes, threaded with mid-century rental apartment clusters along the arterials. The population is broadly diverse, with established Korean, Chinese, Jewish and Filipino households, and the feel is quieter and more suburban than the tower-heavy Yonge frontage to its east.
