About Grange Park

Grange Park sits just west of the Financial District, wrapped around the green square that gives it its name behind the Art Gallery of Ontario. It's one of downtown's most creative pockets — the AGO and OCAD University, with its famous tabletop building on stilts, anchor the area and lend it a steady art-school current. The streets fold into Chinatown along Dundas and Spadina to the west and Queen West's galleries and shops to the south, so the feel is eclectic, walkable and culturally dense rather than corporate.

The crowd here is a mix of students, artists, young professionals and longtime Chinatown residents. Transit is excellent without a subway stop directly on top: the 505 Dundas and 510 Spadina streetcars cut through, St. Patrick and Osgoode stations on Line 1 are a short walk east, and the whole area is genuinely walk-everywhere. Grange Park itself was renovated into one of the better small urban parks downtown, with playgrounds and mature trees in the AGO's shadow.

Condo stock runs from converted lofts and mid-rises to a growing number of taller towers near Queen and University. Pricing is mainstream downtown, with a creative-district premium attached to the better loft conversions. Buyers tend to be people who want culture, campus and Chinatown on their doorstep — students, downsizers into the arts scene, and investors banking on OCAD and U of T rental demand.
